Emelyana Titarenko: Beauséjour

My name is Emelyana Titarenko but I often go by Yana. I am in my fourth year studying towards a BSc in Psychology at Mount Allison University in Sackville NB. Although I was born in Kiev, Ukraine, Fredericton NB quickly became a place I call home since our move in 2007. Growing up, I attended a francophone school, Ecole Sainte Anne and played volleyball for most of my middle school and high school years. Currently, I am the Vice President External Affairs and the President-elect for the for the Mount Allison Students' Union within my current role, I sit on the Board of Directors for the New Brunswick Student Alliance as well as on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations as the Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Through these organizations, I have been able to develop great advocacy and policy making skills which have allowed me to advocate students on the provincial and federal level. Outside of being a student leader, I am also a Campus Ambassador and the Athletic Trainer for the Mounties Football team who enjoys reading fiction and listening to podcasts produced by women.
