My name is Hannah MacLellan and I was born and raised in Prince Edward Island. I am presently 19 years old and enrolled in my second year at Carleton University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Human Rights and Social Justice. I am a person living with Cerebral Palsy. I am a national ranked para-swimmer and have competed internationally. My advocacy work began in elementary school when I was selected as the Easter Seals Ambassador for Prince Edward Island. In high school, I successfully initiated and lobbied our Provincial Government to amend our Prince Edward Island Highway Traffic Act to include more progressive language to describe persons with accessibility challenges. I was a privileged recipient of The Terry Fox Humanitarian National Award in 2017. Presently I am an active volunteer with the Carleton Disability Awareness Centre which raises awareness on accessibility around our campus. I am a member of the Prince Edward Island Young Liberals and the Carleton University Young Liberals. I work part-time as a student parliamentary office assistant for Mr. Sean Casey, MP for Charlottetown, PEI.
